Hello and welcome! I’m Sara, a performer and creator from Central Virginia, currently based in New York City.
I've had the joy of performing and directing with several Central Virginia theater companies, with favorite roles including Esmeralda in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Miss Honey in Matilda, and Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family. In 2024, I was honored to be a Top 3 finalist in Broadway World’s Next On-Stage competition, where I had the incredible opportunity to perform at the Tony Award–winning venue 54 Below in New York City.
By the kindness of the Lord, I am currently training in Musical Theatre at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in New York City and am set to graduate this coming February. My time at AMDA has been a rich and rewarding journey, with intensive training in acting, vocal technique, and dance, as well as being featured in showcase scenes alongside fellow emerging artists.
Before AMDA, I spent five formative years with Academy Youth Theatre in Lynchburg, Virginia, where I not only performed in numerous productions, but also served as a youth theatre director for a Summer. During that time, I studied vocal technique under the guidance of Dawn Peterson— a mentorship that played a meaningful role in shaping both my voice and artistic foundation. I also had the privilege of working with a professional theatre company in Virginia on a unique, immersive production of Into the Woods—an experience that heavily incorporated improvisation and deepened my appreciation for collaborative, experimental theatre.
Outside of the performing arts, I love expressing creativity through cake decorating. At the age of fourteen, I started my bakery Sweet Dreams Bakery, which for over six years, has allowed me to design, bake, and decorate custom cakes for weddings and special events—helping bring sweet dreams to life.
I also grew up in a beautifully talented musical household, full of family members that share a strong love for all types of music. From bluegrass, folk, rock, and even Mozart, growing up in a household where someone was always strumming or drumming has positively influenced my own love and appreciation for the arts! Guided by faith and a mission-minded heart, I strive to honor each character I portray and hope to ignite a love for the arts in others through authentic performances and connection. It’s a true blessing to share stories with audiences and bring something meaningful to the stage.”
